Moxion Deep-SA
Dubbed as the pioneer of Mpumalanga Gqom, Moxion Deep-SA has taken the local music scene by storm.
Branching into a genre widely popular in Kwa Zulu Natal, the Mpumalanga-born music producer and DJ, has given new life to a genre that has been on a steady decline across the country.
Social media teasers for the release of ‘Izinyembezi’ have seen a highly positive reception from his growing fan base. This track has all the elements of a Gqom track, from the pulsating bassline to the kick drum and chants.
Moxion Deep from Nhlazatshe, collaborated with well-known artist, DJ Tira in his music video for his upcoming single “Bawelile”, also featuring Dlala Dlala Mr Que. Another new album is also in the offing – “Hold My Hands.” On this album, his fans can expect to experience something of all the different facets of Moxion Deep-SA they had grown to love. “I am trying to do different scenarios because the album has different vibes, turning gqom into gospel sounds or turning gospel into gqom songs. “Bawelile” is more of an urban, classy song. I’m also trying to position Moxion’s brand in such a way that my music also caters to those who enjoy beautiful music without going down the piano tempo.
